Who's Coming Back?

SpaceIt's an entirely rhetorical question, because we don't have any CHOICE in the matter, but... For much of the world - preoccupied with finding the next meal, paying this week's rent or getting that assignment in on time - coming back is not an issue right now. For some, our existence on earth is a one-off opportunity to get it right, the stakes being an afterlife of Jam-Packed Fun versus eternal damnation (uggghh...) For some this world is unreal anyway, a projection of our minds' misconception, in which case there's nowhere really to come back to, so....

But for players of The Game, there is only one place to be: on The Playing Field. And that's here, that's now. Of course The Game has its ups and downs, its winning days and its losing days.  But these are matters for the coaching staff to analyse and the fans to delight or despair over.  As a designated player, my role is to play with all my heart and enjoy The Game. The more I play, the less I understand The Game and the less I mind not understanding. The more I play, the more I love The Game and the more deeply appreciate the chance to play... Cricket ... because I'm a player, and this is my Game... ... and as long as my Game is afoot, as long as the Captain and Coach want me on The Field, I mean to play again and again and again and again and again, all the while enjoying it more and more and more and more and more... ... and more. Will I be coming back? Eagerly, suited up and ready to play...
